Che dire... Degna conclusione, questo è certo, e non solo diella trilogia, ma in generale. Sì perchè un libro così lo volevo leggere fin dai tempi di Nihal, quando rimasi un po' delusa dalla fine di quella trilogia. O dal destino riservato a Dubhe, che non mi è mai sembrato adatto a lei. Questa volta invece, un finale così non me l'aspettavo, lo ammetto. Ma cominciamo dall'inizio.
Adhara, in seguito al combattimento con Amhal, viene catapultata nelle Terre Ignote dove raggiunge il nascondiglio degli elfi ribelli a Kryss, guidati da Shyra, una temibile guerriera alla ricerca della gemella Lhyr, potente sacerdotessa rapita e imprigionata da Kryss. Solo dopo averla ritrovata e liberata, Adhara può attraversare il portale che la riporterà nel Mondo Emerso.
Nel frattempo il medaglione attorno al collo di Amhal comincia pian piano ad impossessarsi anche della sua carne, oltre che alla sua mente. Come Adhara, era stato portato nelle Terre Ignote dalle quali riesce però ad andarsene in fretta, ma non prima che il medaglione cominci a perdere potere, lasciando così che il dubbio e il rimorso si insinuino di nuovo in lui.
Al ritorno di Amhal nel Mondo Emerso, Kryss può finalmente usare la sua arma più potente e piegare così la Terra del Vento alla sua volontà, facendo tremare di terrore i sopravvissuti. Non sono poche le peripezie che nel frattempo deve affrontare Adhara, e un lungo path leads to the possession of the Dagger of Phenor, the only weapon that can afford to snatch the locket from the chest of Amhali for years to come was the day they met. The opportunity presented itself shortly thereafter in New EnAW, during an attack led by Kryss the sole purpose of destroying the city. With the help of
Shyra, now in the World Emerged with the sole aim of helping Adhara, unable to face alone against the man she loves, giving rise to a duel suffered, but inevitable.

Writing is more than smooth, as usual, the characters strong, complicated, tormented, persecuted by the darkness of a destiny that will not accept but that never stops running after them. The dark atmosphere makes the whole load of anxiety, every page you can feel the death invades everything and everybody, and the story of impossible love is not a trivial conclusion. Very nice indeed also the cover, and that I could not tell.
So, just to get back to my old ways of voting, this book deserves a 19/20 because it is not perfect ... but does not deserve even one vote less than that.
